UTC Fire & Security expands investment in India [Oct 2011]

UTC Fire & Security India opens a world-class fire suppression systems factory in Bangalore. The facility was officially inaugurated by UTC Fire & Security President Scott Buckhout and the Minister of Public Works for the state of Karnataka CM Udasi.
“This factory represents yet another major step towards expanding our presence in India and is a key milestone in our expansion plans for the fire suppression business globally, enabling us to bring the most effective and advanced fire safety solutions to customers,” said Buckhout. “We have the right mix of products to meet India’s needs as the fire and security industry continues to grow, and we are committed to supporting the Indian government’s efforts to develop the regulations needed to protect people and assets throughout the country.”
Located in the Bommasandra Industrial Area of Bangalore, the new facility has been developed according to the Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environment Design principles. In September 2010, the company has opened the Hyderabad-based India Innovation & Engineering Centre, to design, develop and integrate fire and security products for customers in India and to support global product development for the company’s worldwide operations.
UTC Fire & Security’s fire products include detection and alarm systems, suppression equipment, fire fighting equipment, speciality detection, and residential and commercial fire safety products and solutions. Security products include access control, intrusion, video, and key and lock solutions. UTC Fire & Security also offers fire and security services such as design, installation, testing, inspection and monitoring of fire and security systems.
