These collaborative efforts shall result in better asset optimisation and broader risk management for industrial companies. Rockwell Automation and Cisco are committed to being the most valuable resources in the industry for helping manufacturers to improve business performance by bridging the technical and cultural gaps between plant flow and higher level information systems and the enterprise.
Rockwell Automation and Microsoft are working together and aligning strategically to accelerate innovations for both operations and IT practitioners, to develop manufacturing information solutions that enable manufacturers to increase the value of ownership that shall help the customers to leverage their existing technology investments.
U.S based Rockwell Automation Inc. an over 6.26 billion dollar, NYSE listed company dedicated to industrial automation and information is focusing on further expanding its global foot print in emerging markets. Rockwell Automation which employs over 20,000 professional globally, with around 600 based out of India, currently drives 22 per cent of its revenues from Asia Pacific region.
The theme of Rockwell Automation on the Move 2015, “The Connected Enterprise” has the belief that manufacturing will change more radically in the next 5 years than it has in the last 20 years. “Rockwell Automation on the Move 2015 is a commitment to help manufacturers gain the competitive advantage they need to succeed and grow. Every manufacturer shall enter and progress through the stages of ‘The Connected Enterprise’ that is most appropriate for it, at a pace determined by its own needs, infrastructure, readiness and resources. It is critically important for Rockwell’s customers (manufacturers) to experience what its offerings are, and hence looking at creating customer briefing centres to take its solutions closer to their hearts,” said Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director, Rockwell Automation, India.
Tom O’Reilly, President Asia Pacific, Rockwell Automation said, “We are clearly focused on the biggest emerging markets like India, China and South East Asia. If you look at these markets today they have very good Gross Domestic Products. In these markets, there is a rapid growth due to increased rate of urbanisation and with this opens huge prospects for Rockwell’s products and solutions.”
Mr Sawhney further said, “Manufacturing is tightly linked to overall business processes for the enterprise. This has manifested itself in a convergence of IT and automation technologies, driving real time decision making from demand fulfilment back through the supply chain. We have seen great gains in productivity as a result- Smart manufacturing is a fundamental need for all manufacturers.”
