For these reasons, the event is a highlight for us at Mobil, and we look forward to our active participation there.
Mobil driving innovation over the years
Bringing a heritage of over 150 years to India, Mobil has been focused on innovation and working tirelessly towards enabling energy efficiency in industrial performance with the use of holistic solutions that combine the best lubrication formulations with the most advanced service offerings. Among our products leading innovation in the machine tools segment, the Mobil DTE 10 Excel™Series lubricants have been specially formulated to meet the demands of today’s high-pressure industrial and mobile equipment hydraulic systems. These hydraulic fluids help keep hydraulic systems cleaner and longer than conventional ones. They are proven to boost hydraulic efficiency by up to 6 percent, decreasing power consumption and increase system responsiveness*. Further, for the machine shop, our Mobil Vactra™ Oil Numbered Series premium-quality slideway lubricants are delivered to meet requirements of accuracy, aqueous coolant separability, and equipment protection of precision machine tools.
To ensure excellent performance in arduous machining operations, we have also designed the Mobilcut™ Series of biostable, chlorine-free fluids that offer benefits in ease of use and maintenance and have the potential to consolidate products and reduce inventories. Further, the Mobil Velocite™ Oil Numbered Series oils are premium performance products primarily designed to lubricate high-speed spindles in machine tools. These oils have high oxidation resistance that helps reduce critical deposit formation, resulting in improved oil life. We are also constantly innovating our services portfolio and integrating the best IIoT and AI/ML to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, simplify decision-making with precise automated data, and boost machine reliability and productivity.
Promising manufacturing outlook for 2023 in the country
The manufacturing outlook for 2023 is promising, and at Mobil, we are well-positioned to actively enable India’s impending economic growth. As reports suggest, India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2027, and industrial expansion will be a crucial driver. The manufacturing industry operates in varying and often extreme conditions, warranting the need for superior and stable equipment performance. Quality lubricants and cutting oils are key enablers of high performance in high-pressure situations, making manufacturing operations smooth, productive, efficient, and profitable. We have broad interest across a range of core industries, and the machine tools segment features prominently in our research, development and vision for 2023 and beyond. Combining superior solutions and reliable services is a key driver for the manufacturing sector and machine tool operators. The industry will remain relevant as India doubles up on achieving its dream of becoming a USD 5tn economy – and Mobil will stay a firm partner in this journey towards greater efficiency, profitability and prosperity.
Prospects for Make-in-India to push manufacturing sector growth in India
A testimony to the country’s stated goal of ‘Manufacturing in India for the Rest of the World’, India is expected to scale its manufacturing exports to $1 trillion by the fiscal year 2027-28. The drivers of this projected growth will be priority sectors such as automotive, textiles and industrial machinery. To meet goals of economic growth and place India on the world map as a manufacturing hub, these key manufacturing businesses are today emphasising efficiency in operations to maximise profitability. Companies have an added focus on opting for best-in-class equipment, precise machinery and specialised equipment tools. And to maintain the performance of these niche equipment, there is a simultaneous focus on choosing superior lubrication solutions that ensure good health and continuity of industrial operations. Driving innovative formulations that assure increased productivity and profitability at Mobil, we have been closely associating with India’s manufacturing industries as partners in the country’s economic growth journey.
Industry 5.0
We are contributing to the paradigm shift from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 by integrating digitalisation and AI/ML in key product and service offerings. Our cutting-edge smart service solutions can monitor lubrication needs and warn of related malfunctions in machinery with enough time for amendment. Our services under the Mobil ServSM Lubrication Analysis (MSLA) program spearhead precise and informed oil monitoring and analysis, allowing timely checks, course correction, and eliminating sample labelling. During the past year, the MSLA program has helped industrial companies modernise their fundamental procedures for increased effectiveness and productivity. We have also innovated with services such as Mobil™ Solcare Service application that make lubricant usage more productive and profitable. The app enhances the productivity of the machine shop with a digitised coolant monitoring tool which provides data-driven insights and tailor-made recommendations to help achieve production targets efficiently. India is an exciting market for us because of the country’s focus on expanding industries that are both profitable and energy efficient. We have embraced IIoT and Industry 4.0 and are ready to support Industry 5.0 to ensure smooth and synchronised work processes.
*The energy efficiency of Mobil DTE 10 Excel relates solely to the fluid performance when compared to conventional Mobil-branded hydraulic fluids. The technology allows up to a 6% increase in hydraulic pump efficiency in standard hydraulic applications under controlled conditions. The energy efficiency claim for this product is based on test results on fluid use conducted by all applicable industry standards and protocols. Results may vary based on operating conditions and equipment.
