The Modi government 2.0 is workings towards a strategic planning to promote the Make in India programme. In the last five years, the campaign has made significant achievements in terms of development.Though, even today, most of the technical products in India, are imported from nations like Germany, we have numerous Indian companies which produce and manufacture world class products, standing strong against the imported goods. The Make in India campaign has already initiated changing trends in the country. The industry is already transforming, and it will require more of time for complete transition. Not only the manufacturing sector, but also the SMEs and MSMEs have witnessed growth.

As a result, many companies are manufacturing goods with ‘zero defects’ and ensuring that the goods have ‘zero effect’ on the environment. Hence sustainable development in the country is progressing by imposing high-quality manufacturing standards while minimising environmental and ecological impact.

With the implementation of GST (Goods and Services Tax), and effectiveness of demonetisation, the industry is said to have become more transparent and accountable. Process of licensing and clearance have been eased. Promoting these processes have influenced the companies to participate in the Make in India initiative and contribute in the development of India, and both the companies and the customers has been accepting the brand tag of Made in India at large.

Even the industry players have felt the elevation for SMEs and MSMEs under the Make in India initiative. They further feel that this initiate has helped the small and medium enterprises to gain the momentum, by making the processes easier and transparent. The government’s possible push for electrifying the villages, through providing LED lightings in the villages, had also been influencing the small companies to perform big and achieve possible positive grades through the Make in India initiatives.
