150-ton type MRH line will be delivered to Bavarian State Mint in November 2021.
Schuler has received an order for the 1,000th high-performance minting press from the Bavarian State Mint in Munich. The 150-ton type MRH line will be delivered in November 2021.
“Cash continues to enjoy great popularity as a means of payment,” emphasises Dieter Merkle, Director Global Minting. Schuler has been manufacturing minting presses since the 1870s: “The latest order confirms our long experience in this field,” says a delighted Frank Klingemann, Managing Director.
The press is of horizontal design and can mint up to 850 coins per minute. The Bavarian State Mint currently produces up to one billion of these a year on a total of 17 high-performance Schuler lines, making it responsible for more than one-fifth of the German euro coins in circulation.
Schuler’s high-performance minting presses also include vertical MRV lines. These can be used, for example, to produce bi-metal and tri-metal coins in a single operation. A special joining unit developed by Schuler even enables the processing of a translucent polymer ring, such as on the five-euro collector coin from the “Climate Zones of the Earth” series.
