Henkel launches Acoustic lab for India’s Automotive and General Industry

February 10, 2017 3:04 pm

Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Private Limited (a fully owned subsidiary of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA), the leading solution provider for adhesives, sealants and functional coatings, unveiled an acoustic lab at its Pune Innovation Centre. This new acoustic lab will enable Henkel India to offer cutting-edge solutions to meet the evolving and challenging requirements of customers in the area of Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH). Henkel India launched the acoustics lab with ‘Henkel Innovation Day – Acoustic and Structural’ summit for the automotive and general industry. The summit witnessed industry experts give insights on innovations in the automotive industry, acoustic trends, and crash and safety norms.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kourosh Bahrami, Henkel AG & Co. KG said, ““Both noise and vibration play a crucial role in a vehicle‘s quality. Automotive OEMs have started developing vehicles with competitive NVH performance in shorter design cycles, and at lower development and vehicle costs. At Henkel, we put our customers at the centre of what we do and work closely with them to develop solutions to challenges faced by them. At this acoustic lab we will collaborate with our customers by solving NVH problems.”

The lab will facilitate vehicle and component level testing for different applications as per international standards. It will also help meet high level product validation tests based on customer requirements. Henkel’s trained team of engineers analyze acoustic material properties of structures and panels to determine their effectiveness in automotive, off-road equipment and appliance applications. With the latest equipment and software, to perform measurements and analysis, Henkel is able to offer full capabilities including Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and lab testing.

With the new acoustic NVH capabilities, the Center will provide a boost to the existing simulated environment for the automotive, off-road equipment and appliance industry portfolio’s acoustic structures.
