NI conducts Annual Educators Day

National Instruments (NI) and the NICE (Nurturing Innovation and Creativity in Education) Committee hosted the 11th Annual Educator’s Day 2012, a graphical system design academic conference in India. The two day event on ‘Exploratory Engineering’, aims to recognise outstanding innovation in the field of exploratory research for engineering institutions and universities in India. 
The event showcased the latest tools and best practices in engineering education. The event was attended by over 1,500 researchers, students, professors and eminent academicians across the country. The conference included the best teaching-learning practices and engaging with domain experts on the best research avenues and hands-on workshops on NI LabVIEW and Multisim.  NI, its customers and partners also provided industrial consultation and career opportunities to the participating engineering students through job applications and aptitude test conducted at the event.

The fact that we received 645 entries to our embedded system design competition shows the shift in interest of students to ‘Doing Engineering’ rather than learning engineering. Innovation being the need of day, we can be sure that experiential learning coupled with Do Engineering is the right combination to address the grand engineering challenges”
