“Globally, LEDs are fast replacing any other form of lighting and we are convinced that it will be the same for India shortly”, says Arun Gupta, MD, NTL Electronics India and Global CEO, NTL Lemnis BV. The company has announced sales of 3.05 million LED lamps for the period July 2011 to June 2012. “The main entry barrier is the high upfront costs as well as the lack of awareness. Government interventions in the segment are helping a lot and it is believed that this will lead to better adoption of the technology,” a statement released by the company said.
