ZAplus recognised as ‘most innovative fan of 2014’

July 22, 2014 3:56 pm

ZAplus fan system, offered by ZIEHL-ABEGG, has been recognised as the ‘most innovative fan of 2014’ by the China Refrigeration Organisation. The award is a part of the China Refrigeration Expo – a leading Asian trade fair for refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems. The ZAplus fan system, which has already won several other awards, is used in supermarkets, hotels and refrigeration.
Around 1,100 companies from more than 30 countries exhibited at the expo with many of them competing to receive the mark of quality from the China Refrigeration Organisation. “In the heating and ventilation equipment category, ZIEHL-ABEGG was the only fan manufacturer to succeed in winning over the panel of judges with one of its products. In the case of the ZAplus fan system, the members of the panel highlighted four main reasons for the award: the system’s high level of efficiency, low noise, reliability and flexibility,” the company informed issuing a statement.
The ZAplus compact fan system has now been given the title “Innovation Product of the Year” in Shanghai. “We were the only fan manufacturer to receive an award,” comments CEO Peter Fenkl, who is delighted with the company’s success. “The China Refrigeration Organisation honoured us with the Innovation Award because the ZAplus complete system is very cleverly designed,” explains Jason Liu, Managing Director of ZIEHL-ABEGG in China. “The system integrates the fan, motor and control into a single, compact unit made from high-strength composite material. This optimises the air flow and spares the need for unnecessary packaging material.”
When it came to the blade design, the developers took inspiration from the wing of an owl – the quietest bird of prey: spikes on the rear edge of the fan blade and a kink on the top edge help to reduce noise generation. “With this system, a saving of at least 25 per cent in electricity usage can easily be achieved,” the company avers.
