The major topics discussed included innovative technologies, global and regional growth trends and their impact on the strategic priorities of the data centre markets.
In light of the large economic potential as well as enormous energy demand of data centres, effective facility management of data centres is of primary strategic concern. On the occasion, Philip Krause, Head of Datacenter Centre of Competence, AsiaPacific, Siemens discussed about technologies that enable 24×7 operational excellence for data centre.
Varoon Raghavan, AVP Growth Ventures, Tata Communications Limited, expressed his views on an end user perspective on designing, building, and maintaining efficient data centres.Stephen Worn, CTO and CEO, North America Datacenter Dynamics, talked about a global perspective on the data centre market and its growth potential, with focus on India. According to Nasscom, India’s data centre market was pegged at approx $2.2 billion in 2012 and is estimated to grow by more than 8 per cent over the next 3-4 years. The data centre is considered as the most energy-intensive and data-sensitive type of facilities in the world and the demand for more data centres is growing unceasingly.
