Indian crane market is growing at a steady speed. The estimated annual demand for industrial cranes in 2012 was about 20,000 cranes, and it should touch to 25,000 cranes by 2013. The future for crane sector looks promising due to the growth of manufacturing sector, infrastructure development and foreign direct investments in India, and these would be the main drivers for growth of industry as a whole. The demand for industrial cranes is expected to grow by 20 per cent over the next 5 years. Delighting customersIndian market is developing at a rapid speed and has become more demanding than ever. Today, customers have become very keen on the delivery time of equipment to avoid the cost of delay in projects. After-sales service and availability of spare parts are also great concerns to customers. Konecranes is focusing on developing its infrastructure to provide on-time service and make spare parts available to customers.
Launching new productsKonecranes is trying to strengthen its position in India by understanding customer needs and delivering with excellence in every way as it has always done. Last year, Konecranes launched new CLX electric chain hoists with capacity from 60 kg to 2,500 kg for automotive, machine tool, and light-lifting applications.

With China’s manufacturing competitiveness losing sheen fast, India can take a major share of global manufacturing needs.
