Could you brief us on the Dirak’s business activities and its journey in India?DIRAK India is a 100 per cent subsidiary of DIRAK GmbH of Germany. DIRAK is a global leader in manufacturing and supplying of mechanical and electronic hardware particularly latches, locks, hinges, rubber gaskets and other industrial fittings.
Since its inception in 1991, DIRAK Group has registered over 300 patents for hinges, latches, seals and mounting systems and has expanded into a global enterprise. The Indian operations commenced in the year 1998.
Tell us about the products and solutions you offer to the Indian market. Our product range includes mechanical and electronic hardware particularly latches, locks, hinges and rubber gaskets. These products fulfil the IP rating requirements of the control panel industry. Locks are offered in different configurations to suit the specific requirements of customers – with varieties of inserts and matching keys, conventional locks with keys (common keys for any number of locks or different keys for each lock) along with ‘cams’ to match the locking depths based on the door design of the customers. We offer varieties of hinges – both in the concealed and the external variety. Hinges that can facilitate the removal of doors when opened beyond 90 degree are also offered to make the maintenance work easier for the customer. The range of hinges includes ones that can be fitted after the door is painted with a cut-out on the door.
Rubber gaskets offered by DIRAK play a major role in maintaining IP requirements. The sealing part of the rubber can be compressed up to 6 mm to take care of minor variations in fabrication. Gaskets for single bending or double bending are available. In addition, 4-lip seals, edge protections, window seals, sealing tapes with standard and non-standard widths and thicknesses are also offered. We serve energy distribution, communication & IT, HVAC, Railways and industrial machinery verticals. “Solutions for enclosures are the core competence of DIRAK”, your comment…DIRAK provides various solutions for the enclosure market and that is our core competence. Our regular range of locks, hinges and gaskets can be used for different door designs and also to get the required IP rating.
Our SNAP Line product range offers a tool free installation. By using D-SNAP technology, the SNAP-in elements, which are integrated into a housing compartment are wedged into the cut-out, providing a secure vibration proof installation. Without screws, there is no concern about loose pieces falling off and damaging sensitive equipment.
We continue to come out with innovative solutions and the E-Line mechatronics solution is one such example. These are electronic locking systems that can be managed remotely through software. E-LINE monitors and controls access to confidential data that is stored in server / data enclosures. The detailed requirements of individual customers can be implemented, whether it is a single unit or a master plan for a corporation. Data centres are one of the major verticals for this product group.
Data protection is considered to be the responsibility of firewalls and antivirus software. What is often overlooked is that physical access to the data in the data centres themselves. Contrary to the general belief, only a very few data centres are adequately protected against physical access. This is where our new solutions come in.
What are the specialised products you offer for machine builders?Innovation is our strength and we continue to bring in innovative new solutions to the market. Our D-SNAP technology is new to the market which offers hardware installation without the use of tools or mounting hardware such as screws or nuts. This technology offers a completely new way of reducing cost and in overall time saving. By using D-SNAP technology, the SNAP-in elements, which are integrated into a housing compartment, are wedged into the cutout, providing a secure vibration proof installation.
