Premier upgrades models in CNC Gear Cutting & Machining Centre range [May 2012]

Premier showcased its newly upgraded versions of their fast moving models, the PHA 250, a CNC gear hobbing machine and the PVM 40, a vertical machining centre at Modern Machine Shop 2012 (MMS) held in Greater Noida.
Premier PHA 250 gear hobber, one of its fastest moving models designed specifically for the auto component and engineering industry is presented in the EGB version (optional features), technologically suitable for a job shop and completely controlled through software. The newly designed Premier PVM 40, a high speed vertical machining centre is cost effective, and suitable for tool room, automobile component and engineering industries. Its advanced technology makes it one of the most superior models available in the current Indian market, suitable for die mould application.
In the last few years, Premier has invested nearly Rs. 300 crore to expand and modernise its Pune plant, of which nearly Rs. 150 crore is exclusively used to upgrade its CNC machine building capability. This division occupies nearly 2,00,000 sq. ft. of shed space and employs close to 800 people, including nearly 200 engineers. According to Chairman and Managing Director, Maitreya Doshi, “In the next 3 years we plan to aggressively expand our gear cutting machine presence in BRIC geographies like Brazil, Russia as well as Indonesia and Turkey”.
