KTR aims high on construction segment [Dec 2011]

With KTR having close to 70 per cent of the market share in the segment, the company took the opportunity to create awareness about their products. For customers, their outlets and franchisees or traders who were unable to locate KTR, this was the right venue to make them aware of KTR’s presence in India. “From the business point of view, this participation would leveraged to enhance KTR’s existence in the market”, said Kumar Karandikar, Manager Sales at KTR Couplings (India) Pvt. Ltd.
Founded in 1998, KTR India is a wholly owned subsidiary of KTR Kupplungstechnik GmbH, Germany. KTR Couplings are most effective solution for across the industries. KTR does not only deliver standard couplings or solutions. To meet customer specific technical specification, KTR Engineers can design a new coupling by modifying stock parts or produce prototypes for bespoke situations.
KTR participated in EXCON for the first time. Rather than launching new product, the company chosen to leverage on their existing range of products for the construction segment making a mention of the new KTR STOP which is a hydraulic braking system mainly used for material handling system, conveyors etc.
“India is in a phase where changes are taking place at a faster pace. Need for quality up-gradation is required. The well known companies are also trying to come up with updated or upgraded products. So there is a demand for technological up gradation and we are proud to be part of it by a very small component though”, Mr. Karandikar shares.
On a very unique initiative, KTR is strengthening its bond with the customers. According to Mr. Karandikar, “We are doing success sharing, that way we are imparting quite a lot of interaction with our dealers. Our sales engineers are also getting refreshing training from Germany and India”.
KTR India has set up an all new manufacturing plant at Bhosari near Pune to satisfy the demand for power transmission products locally from India. This is the fifth manufacturing plant for KTR globally. The company also provides best-in-class after sales support.
