Weld Cleaning Brushes
Weld Cleaning Power Brushes are designed especially for the gas and oil pipeline construction industry. These are aggressive models which run at high speeds on surfaces for de-scaling, de burring, removing rust and adhesive residues as well as preparing and cleaning weld seams. They are available in three types:
Knotted steel wire wheel brushesWith the most commonly used Osborn brush of a diameter of 171 mm and 76 knots, almost 5,00,000 sharp wire tips per second are applied to the weld seam. This move over the surface at a speed more than 280 km per hour and thus remove even the smallest contaminations.
These brushes provide an excellent cleaning solution for weld seams prior to re-welding any welding defects are visible immediately after brushing and can be reworked immediately & an overall improvement of quality standards is achieved.Knotted steel wire cup brushesThese brushes are available in diameters ranging from 65 mm to 150 mm and available in single as well as double rows of knots. They remove spatter, paint, rust, scale and other kinds of contamination to expose the metal and create an excellent surface for coatings. Encapsulated brushes (Plastic bonded steel wire brushes)Osborn has developed an engineered wheel brush with plastic-encapsulated wire. Original crimped wire is bonded with green elastomer material. This wire provides the best cutting quality further improved by the plastic-bonding. This brush efficiently removes oxide and burning residues without spreading out at the brush inset. It is ideal for uniform blending of surfaces and surface junctures. It’s superb cutting quality & controlled face width gives high efficiency.
With the most commonly used Osborn brush of a diameter 171 mm and 76 knots, almost 5,00,000 sharp wire tips per second are applied to the weld seam. This move over the surface at a speed more than 280 km/h and thus remove even the smallest contaminants.
These are particularly designed for following areas: • Weld seam cleaning on fillet welds, in constricted openings and slots• Non-stock removing• Removal of the coating material, which has been applied as corrosion protection, from the exterior of the pipeline tubes• Problem zones and undercut that arise under the influence of heat and are normally difficult to reach during welding.
The removal of cinder and oxidisation is achieved in a complete and efficient manner. It is an excellent cleaning solution for weld seams prior to re-welding and any welding defects are visible immediately after brushing and can be reworked immediately & an overall improvement of quality standards is achieved.
Osborn’s Weld Cleaning Power Brush is produced from the highest quality materials, thus providing long life and exceptional brushing results. And ultimately reduces the cost of construction by 30- 35 per cent.
Depending, upon the surface quality required brushes with the correct wire size can be specified. These brushes are available in normal and high density as well. They are easy to install and operate.
