The new plant will supply major components such as mounting boards and electronic units for use at the Group’s production bases in China, strengthening the supply chain in China.
Yaskawa Electric Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kitakyushu-city, Fukuoka; Representative Director, Chairman of the Board, President: Hiroshi Ogasawara) is pleased to announce that the new plant of YASKAWA (Changzhou) Mechatronics system Co., Ltd. (Location: Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China), a group company, was completed in June 2022, and mass production has commenced to manufacture mounting boards for servo amplifiers and AC drives as well as electronic units for robot control panels used in its production bases in China.
In China, economic activities are stagnant by the effect of the COVID-19 but demand for factory automation at production sites is increasing due to labor shortages caused by the low birth rate and aging population, rising labor costs, and the risk of the COVID-19 spreading. Also, in line with China’s domestic growth strategy, demand is expected to expand in a wide range of fields, including EV-related, 5G-related, and environment-related infrastructure investments designed to reduce carbon neutrality, semiconductors, and general industrial markets.
The new plant will supply major components such as mounting boards and electronic units for use at the Group’s production bases in China, strengthening the supply chain in China. Our company aims to accelerate improvements in productivity and quality by building a production system that implements our solution concept i³-Mechatronics.
In addition, we plan to expand production models to further strengthen our capability to respond to customer needs and enhance our proposal capabilities of i³-Mechatronics, thereby improving customer satisfaction and contributing to the growth and development of the Chinese economy.
We held a completion ceremony on site to mark the start of operations at the new plant. The ceremony was attended exclusively by relevant parties in light of the COVID-19 in China, but all members shared goals for further development in the future.
